We keep blaming the other forces who are against us. But then, the biggest problem lies within. Many of us don't understand Islam. We know too little about Islam. Even I myself don't understand Islam fully. And back then, I don't even try too. And sadly I see my previous self growing in my generation, and the next generations. We know too little.
I don't have to go far, to the Arab or America to see how the understanding of Islam and the practicing of the teachings have corrodes. By watching my own community, I realize that how many of us contradict ourselves from Islam. They represent Islam but their behaviors don't. And without any doubt, me too, can be among those people. The way I dress, eat, talk, argue, the way I cope with my anger... And it's sad to see when a Muslim want to fight for Islam, but inappropriately, under emotional control, and totally contradicts Islam itself.
Somehow, there are too, Muslims who amazes me. Those who really implement the teachings of Islam in their daily life, who understand Islam by learning (from the right source), not by their own interpretation of Islam. And sometimes, these people don't even wear robes, or carry beads, or wear niqab.
And finally, I'd like to stress out my main point here, that is, (to me and fellow Muslims), don't just blame others for our downfall. The blame is on us too, as the biggest problem lies within. And if there's something to fix in the first place, it is our own selves.
We know too little.
